Writer & director William Bridges
I've always been interested in making a film that tells the story from the bad guy's perspective. In Shallow our main character, Richard Dove, is the bad guy; he is a cheating MP who has built his flourishing career and life around his ability to lie convincingly. He is then faced by his biggest challenge, covering up the death of an innocent person at the hands of his own neglect. We as the viewer are not meant to like or sympathise with him, but enjoy watching him walk along that tightrope of being found out or getting away with it.
